Genevieve “Genny” Deason, 82, passed away Saturday, Aug. 21, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.
She was born Dec. 28, 1927 in Owensville to George and Esther (Bilderback) Lankford.
She lived in Princeton since 1981 moving here from Owensville. She graduated from
Owensville High in 1945. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Princeton, Golden Fleece Chapter Order of Eastern Star and the
Gibson General Hospital Auxiliary. She enjoyed spending time with
grandchildren, great grandchildren and her daughter’s dog, Bitsy.
Survivors include a daughter, Lynette (Jim
Bryant) Shoemaker of Princeton; three grandchildren, Anastasia Shoemaker of Princeton, Antonette (Donnie) Sutton of Beaver Dam, Ky., Thomas (Stephanie) Shoemaker of Princeton; four
great-grandchildren, MacKenzie Linson,
Elijah Caddell, Kendall Sutton and Landon Shoemaker
She was preceded in death by her
parents; husband, David W. “Bill” Deason in 1989;
brother, Warren (Jeanne) Lankford; and sister, Magdalene (Rannie)
Hardin.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday Aug. 25, 2010 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. George Prinzing
officiating. Burial will follow in Maple Hill Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service hour on Wednesday at the funeral
home.
