Delmar V. Byrns, 87, formerly of Owensville, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2010 at home.

 Born June 21, 1923, he was the son of Scott and Beulah (Seals) Byrns.

He was retired from Flintkote, a lifetime member of the Mt. Carmel VFW Post 4276 and a member of the Union Mission Church in Mt. Carmel.

Survivors include daughters, Shirley (Paul) Rose of Peoria, Ill., Diana (Mark) Perry of Princeton, Marilyn (David) Doan of Mt. Carmel, Ill.; sons, Wayne  and Benny (Kathy)  Byrns both of Mt. Carmel, Ill., Kevin (Pauline) Byrns of Princeton; seven grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Billie W. Byrns; his parents; five brothers; two sisters; a granddaughter; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 7, 2010 at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with Pastor Tim Bobbitt will officiating. Burial will be in Maumee Cemetery with military rites conducted by the Mt. Carmel VFW Post 4276.

Visitation will be from 9 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday at the funeral home.
