Geraldine Barrett, 84, passed away Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2010 at Deaconess Hospice Center in Evansville.

Born March 31, 1926, she was the daughter of Lilburn and Stanza (McReynolds) Walters.

Geraldine had worked in the laundry department at the Owensville Convalescent Center, was a member of the First General Baptist Church of Owensville and a graduate of the Owensville High School Class of 1944. She was an avid reader, loved to watch the humming birds and go on walks.

 She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Robert Wayne Barrett; daughter, Jeanne (Mike) Lindsey of Rockport; sons, Don (Barb) and John (Teri) Barrett of Owensville; three grandchildren, Craig (Candy) Armstrong, Brandon (Jill) and Ashlie Barrett; two great-grandchildren, Brennan and Braelyn Barrett.

 She was preceded in death by her parents; and a brother, Cecil Gene Walters.

 Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010 at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville with the Rev. Bob Douglas officiating. Burial will be in the Owensville Cemetery.

 Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
