Nina Marie Shurig,
94, passed away Saturday, July 31, 2010 at Woodlands Nursing Home in Newburgh.
She was born Dec. 15, 1915 in Lucasvile, Ohio.
She was a member of the Main Street United Methodist Church in Boonville and retired many years ago as a floral designer on Franklin Street in Evansville. Her hobby was designing beautiful flower
arrangements. She never met a stranger. She loved people and loved life and
lived her life to the fullest, being an active member for many years in The
Garden Club, Tri Kappa, bridge clubs and Newcomers Club.
Survivors include her son, Larry E. Shurig and his wife, Sue Anne, of Newburgh; two granddaughters, Tracy Ann Maxwell and Jill
Marie DeGraffenreid; three great-granddaughters,
Emily Ann Maxwell, Grace Elizabeth Maxwell and Josie Marie DeGraffenreid;
one niece, Connie (John) Oxby; two nephews, John Shurig and Joe Shurig.
She was preceded in death by her husband of
59 years, Charles Lawrence “Red” Shurig in 1996; her
parents, Martin E. and Josie B. (Stone) Coale; and a
brother, Louis E. Coale.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, 2010 at Koehler Funeral Home Boonville Chapel with
the Rev. John Lefler, Jr. officiating. Burial will
follow at Montgomery Cemetery in Oakland City.
Visitation will be from noon until the service hour Tuesday at the funeral home.

Care hospice and Rev. John Lefler, Jr. for the
compassion, prayers and comfort for our family.
