Roscoe Rainey, 79, of Oakland City, passed away Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

Born June 27, 1931, he was the son of Roscoe (Tom) Rainey and Oma Marie (Mary) Fallowfield.

He was employed at Texas Eastern Pipeline for 35 years until his retirement in 1990. He attended Knight's Chapel Cumberland Presbyterian Church in Oatsville and later attended Oak Grove General Baptist Church in Oakland City. He was a United States Air Force veteran and served from 1951-55 and was a member of Oakland City American Legion Post 256.

Survivors include his loving wife of 58 years, Anna Marie (Knight); daughters, Julie Terwiske, Lori Steber, Lisa Meny of Oakland City; sister, Carmenetta Barton; grandchildren, Rachel Jenkins, Sarah Terwiske, Erica Rummel, John Michael Meny, Brian Meny; and great-grandchild Alexis Rummel.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers; and three sisters.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City with the Rev. Gerald Wibert officiating. Military graveside services will take place at Montgomery Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Friday at the chapel.
