Ronald W. Parker, 79, of rural Hazleton, passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010 at home.
He was born Aug. 20, 1930 in Monroeville to Albert and Edna (Brown) Parker.
He was a retired owner operator truck driver
for Lue’s Trucking in Hazleton, which he and his wife “Lue”
operated. He lived in Hazleton
since the 1980s. He enjoyed woodworking.
He is survived by three daughters;
Debby Smith of Hazleton, Linda (Bob) Turpin of Patoka, Diane Blaize of Hazleton; a sister, Marilou
Springer of Springfield, Ohio; two half-sisters, Jean Kump
and Barbara Kump of Fort Wayne; 10 grandchildren
including Melinda Thompson who helped to care for him; 37 great-grandchildren
including Amber Smith who lived with them; and one great great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; wife, Lois Luanne “Lue” Parker on May 9, 2009; grandparents, Alexander and Emma Parker who raised
him; daughter, Carol Parker; great-grandson, Brayden Blaize; great-granddaughter, Corissa
McGuyer; grandson, Rodney Smith; and brother, Gordon
Parker.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Mark Delong officiating. Burial will follow in the Hazleton Community Cemetery in Hazleton.
Visitation will be noon until 2 p.m. on Tuesday at Colvin Funeral Home.
