Lela Kathleen Cox, 86, passed away Tuesday, July 20, 2010 at home. 

Born Jan. 17, 1924 in Pike County, she was a life resident of Pike County.

She was active in the senior citizens in Petersburg and enjoyed quilting.

 Survivors include four children, Ruth White-Hoefling and Wilma Loann Blaize both of Princeton, Carolyn Abell of Sumner, Ill., Earl Cox of Petersburg; six grandchildren; and six great- grandchildren.

 She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry E. Cox in 1996; and a son, Ronnie Cox.

 Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. (central) Friday, July 23, 2010 at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with Pastor Fred Denton officiating.  Burial will follow at White River Chapel Cemetery in Bowman.  Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. (central) Thursday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
