Gabriel Michael Meece 5, of Elberfeld, IN passed away on Friday June 25, 2010 at Riley Hospital for Children in Indianapolis from complications of chemotherapy. Gabriel was born on April 6, 2005. He was a member of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Oakland City. He attended preschool in Elberfeld. He loved playing outside with his sisters and enjoyed playing with his Transformers and his Wii.

He is survived by his parents, Michael Lee and Natalie (Williams) Meece of Elberfeld; 2 sisters, Grace and Allie Meece at home; grandparents, Mike and Sharon Meece of Huntingburg, Kay and Carl Morgan of Birdseye, and David and Linda Williams of Elberfeld; great grandparents, Bill Meece of Huntingburg, Wilda Barnett of Huntingburg, Dorothy Williams of Loogootee and Mabel Nalley of Oakland City; 3 aunts and their spouses, Amy and Chad Guy, Miranda and Joey Leibering and Leticia and Chris Farmer; and cousins, Paige and Bailey.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, July 2, 2010 at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Oakland City. The celebrant will be Father Ronald Zgunda, and Rev. Keith Meece will also officiate. Burial will be in Zion Cemetery in Elberfeld. Visitation will be from 2 until 8 PM on Thursday and from 8 until 9:30 AM on Friday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City. Family and friends will meet at the funeral home and go in procession to the church on Friday.
