Donald J. McCarthy, 80, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

Born Feb. 28, 1930 in Evansville, he was the son of Victor and Frieda (Bassett) McCarthy.

He resided in Haubstadt the past three years moving from Jacksonville, Fla.  Donald retired as an air traffic controller for the U.S. Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Karen; and a son, Mark McCarthy of Jacksonville, Fla.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

 Graveside services will be 10 a.m. Saturday at Park Lawn Cemetery in Evansville with Rev. Steve Akins officiating.  

 Wade Funeral Home in Haubstadt is handling arrangements.
