John “Scott” Garrett, 51, passed away Wednesday, May 26, 2010 after an accident at the Duke Energy Edwardsport power plant.

Born Aug. 15, 1958, he was the son of Kennett and Erma Lee (Phillips) Garrett.

He was a member of the Owensville Nazarene Church, Painters Local 156 and veteran of the US Army Special Forces.

Survivors include a daughter, Sara Garrett; sons, Andrew and John Randall Garrett; and three grandchildren.

 He was preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Sandy Christopher.

 Funeral services will be at 10 a.m.Wednesday, June 2 at at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville. Burial will be in the Maumee Cemetery with the Rev. Bill Ping officiating. Military rites will be conducted by the American Legion Post 51 and VFW Post 1147.

 Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
