James F. Middleton Sr. 74 of Jasper, passed away Monday, May 17, 2010 at St.Mary’s Medical Center in Evansville.

 Born Oct. 31, 1935 in Carrier Mills, Ill., he was the son of Lorander and Bonnie (Johnson) Middleton.

He was a retired Baptist minster serving churches in Littles, Augusta and Spurgeon. He also drove a gas truck for Wilder and Son and was school bus driver.

Survivors include his wife of 10 years, Janet Miley; sons, James Middleton Jr. of Petersburg, Edward Middleton of Carlisle; daughter, Marian Miller, Alice Boger both of Petersburg; sisters, Loretta Ivey of Monteno, Ill., Mary Prichard of Lexington, Tenn., Linda Sellers of  Stonefort, Ill.; brother, John Middleton of Manteno, Ill.; and nine grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Kathrine Middleton, sisters,  Barbara Cano, Judy Carter; brother, Donald Eugene Middleton; and one granddaughter.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. (central) Saturday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City with the Rev. Joe Henson officiating.  Burial in Williams Cemetery near Oakland.

Visitation will 3-7 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until the service hour on Saturday at the chapel.
