Paul A. Meyer, 90, of Fort Branch, passed away Friday, May 21, 2010 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.
Born July 25, 1919 in Haubstadt, he was the son of George and Rose
(Mayer) Meyer.
Paul was a World War II veteran and served
in the Army Air Corp. He was a member of the Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch, VFW Post 2714, American Legion Post 194, Haubstadt
Knights of Columbus and the Haubstadt Knights of St. John. He was retired from
the Emge Meat Packing Co. in Fort Branch after 45 years where he worked in maintainance.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years,
Rosella T. (Will) Meyer; two children and their spouses, Larry (Martha) Emge of Martinsville, Carolyn (Darwin) Neufelder of Fort Branch;
two brothers, Harold and Richard Meyer both of Haubstadt; two sisters, Rosalee Erny of Jasper, Margaret
Wolfe of Haubstadt; four grandchildren, Beth Ann Lepp,
Leah Ferrand, Dana George, Ryan Neufelder; and eight great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two
brothers, Albertus, Art; and two sisters, Anna
Louise, and Frieda Meyer.
A mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Monday, May 24, 2010 at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Fort Branch with Father Tony Ernst as the celebrant. Burial will
be in the church cemetery. Military services will be conducted at the graveside
by the VFW Post 2714 and the American Legion Post 194.
Visitation was 4-8 p.m. Sunday, May 23, 2010 from 4:00
at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch and again from 9 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on Monday.
A rosary was recited by the church parish at 7:30 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
