Kermit E. Underhill, 68, passed away Friday, May 14, 2010 at home.

Born April 8, 1942 in Uniontown, he was the son of Dennis and Winnie (King) Underhill.

He was a retired coal miner with Old Ben Coal Co. and Kendall Coal Co. He attended Muren Church of God in Winslow.

Survivors include his wife, Joy (Hart) Underhill who he married July 3, 1961; sons, Bud Underhill of White Oak, Bruce Underhill of Petersburg; daughters, Kim Willett of Cato, Angie (Rick) Walburn of Francisco, Ruth Underhill (Jordan) Rubinovitz of Webster Grove, Mo.; brother, Wayne (Sue) Underhill of Evansville; sisters, Rilda (Floyd) Reusch of Brownsburg, Ethal McNeeley of Evansville; and 13 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Raymond, Omer, Estil, Ray and Clifton Underhill; sisters, Irene Schauff and Jeanette Taylor.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. (eastern) Tuesday at Harris Funeral Home in Petersburg with the Rev. Steve Brigance and the Rev. Clint Woolsey officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Petersburg.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. (eastern) Monday and 8 a.m. until the service hour on Tuesday at the funeral home.
