Dennis Russell, 63, passed away Wednesday, April
28, 2010 at home.
Born Oct. 1, 1946 in Winslow, he was the son of Annis
and Ethel (Tisdale) Russell.
He married Sandy Bockelman
on Feb. 14, 1987. He was
a retired yardman for the Norfolk-Southern Railroad. He was a member of
the Southwestern Indiana Daylily Society; attended the Muren
Church of God near Winslow. He was a U.S. Marine Corps veteran of the Vietnam
War decorated with the Purple Heart Medal; and enjoyed scuba diving and
traveling.
Survivors include his wife, Sandy Russell of
Augusta; sons, Annis Keith Russell
of Carmi, Ill., Dennis Heath Russell of Danville; brother, Lennis Russell of Augusta; sister, Becky Pride of Spurgeon; four
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. (eastern) Saturday, at the Muren
Church of God near Winslow with Pastor Clint Woolsey officiating. Burial will
be in Augusta Cemetery. The U.S. Marine Corps Honor Detail will conduct graveside rites.
Visitation will be 2-9 p.m. Friday at Nass & Son
Funeral Home in Huntingburg and also 10 a.m. until the service hour Saturday at the church.
