Nathan Lee Rister, 33, formerly of Carmi, Ill., passed away Saturday, May 1, 2010, at home. 

Born Oct. 21, 1976 in Carmi, Ill., he was the son of Lee and Vanessa (Ziegler) Rister. 

He was a coal miner and a member of the United Methodist Church in Carmi. 

Survivors include his wife, Amanda Rister of Owensville; parents, Lee and Vanessa Rister of Carmi; son, Preston Gregory Lee Rister of Pace, Fla.; daughter, Olivia Michele Rister of Pace, Fla.; brother, Bryson Tyler Rister of Carmi; grandparents, Marvin and Maxine Rister of Carmi, Fred T. Ziegler of Crossville, Ill.; father-in-law and mother-in-law David and Debbie Conrad of Norris City, Ill.; brother-in-law, Nathan (Suzanne) Fowler of Norris City; one niece; and one nephew.

He is preceded in death by his grandmother, Vera Louise Ziegler.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday at Cook Funeral Chapel in Carmi.  Burial will be in Stokes Chapel Cemetery near Crossville, Ill.

 Visitation is 5-8 pm, Wednesday at the funeral home.
