Ralph R. Woods, 87, of Haubstadt, passed away Sunday, March 7, 2010 at The Waters of Huntingburg.

Born May 12, 1922 in Gibson County, he was the son of Raymond and Rosella (Singer) Woods.

He married Anna F. (Chumbley) Clevenger on Dec. 30, 1950.

 He was employed by Whirlpool Corp. until his retirement.

 He was a life member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church and member of Knights of St. John Commandry 345. He was an Army-Air Corp veteran serving in World War II in the Pacific Theater. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 2714 where he served as past commander. He was also a member of American Legion Post 194.

 Survivors include a daughter, Julie A. Meyer of Huntingburg; sister, Shirley Hill of Indianapolis; four grandsons, Greg Meyer of Huntingburg, Mike Meyer of Port St. Lucie, Fla., David Meyer of Chula Vista, Calif., Dale Meyer of Evansville; five great-grandchildren; and one great-great- grandchild.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Anna on Jan. 2, 2002; brother, James Woods; and two sisters, Marilyn Woods and Floraine Meyer.

 A Mass of Christian burial will be 11 a.m. CST Friday, March 12, 2010 at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Tony Ernst the celebrant.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with military rites conducted by V.F.W. Post 2714 and American Legion Post 194.

 Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. CST Thursday at Wade Funeral Home, 119 S. Vine St. in Haubstadt with a Rosary service at 7:30 p.m. Friends may also call from 10 a.m. CST until Mass time Friday at the church.
