Carl Hurt, 97, passed away on Tuesday
February 23, 2010 at the Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing
Facility in Princeton, In. He
had lived in Francisco for 65 years, coming from Pike
County. Through the years he had
worked as a farmer and school bus driver. He ran a road grader for the Gibson
County Highway Dept. and also operated a service station in Francisco. In his
spare time he enjoyed fishing.
Carl was born on January 12, 1913
in Pike County,
In. to Renza and Fannie (Wingate) Hurt, both deceased.
He is also preceded in death by his wife Garnet Kathleen Hurt in 2000 and a son
Calvin Hurt in 2004.
He is survived by 3 children, Joann Westerman of
Henderson, Ky., Virgil Hurt of Francisco, and Gail Miskell
of Princeton; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; 2
great-great-grandchildren; and 2 brothers, Maurice Hurt of Princeton and James
Hurt of Zephyrhills, Fl.
Funeral Services will be held at 10 A.M. on Friday, February 26, 2010 at Colvin
Funeral Home in Princeton with Lt. Jonathan Cooper officiating. Burial will be
in the Forsythe Cemetery
west of Oakland City.
Visitation will be from 4 until 8 P.M.
on Thursday at the funeral home.
