Archie Frank Belcher, 89 of Princeton pasted away Thursday Feb. 25, 2010 at the Gibson
General Hospital
in Princeton. He was born March 9, 1920 in Wheeling IN
to James Oliver and Charlotte
(Street) Belcher. He had worked for Hoosier Gas Co., Adams and Morrow Hardware
and then went to work for the Princeton Fire Department retiring in 1980
serving his last four years as Fire Chief.
He had lived in Princeton most of his life. He was a
member of Eagles Arie 361 in Princeton.
He was an avid reader, enjoyed working crossword puzzles and enjoyed spending
time at Holiday World visiting there several times a week and became acquainted
with the owners and many of the people who worked there.
Frank is survived by his wife, Thelma (Scales) Belcher to whom he married June
24, 1944, children Dennis Beauchamp, of Florida, J. Michael Belcher of
Princeton, Jane (Mark) Mason of Princeton and Larry Frank (Joy) Belcher of
Petersburg, 9 children, 21 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, infant daughter, Susan Elaine, sisters Mabel Cantrell, Carrie Hogg, Alice Whitehouse Burns,
Irene Wiseman Evans, Avis Alvis and a brother James
“Red” Belcher.
Funeral Services will be 10 a.m. Monday March 1, 2010 at the Colvin
Funeral Home in Princeton with Pastor Harley Nickless officiating, burial will follow in Atkinson
Chapel Cemetery
in Oatsville, IN. Visitation
will be from 4 until 8 p.m. Sunday at
the Colvin Funeral Home.
