Alva Leon Woods, 72, passed away on Thursday February
4, 2010 at the River Oaks
Health Campus in Princeton, In. He lived in Princeton since 1985, coming from Northern Illinois.
He had worked at Bally Midway in Chicago for over 20 years. He was retired from Potter &
Brumfield and formerly owned and operated the Somerville Tavern. He served in
the U.S. Army and was a member of the American Legion Post 25 and VFW Post
#1147. He also loved woodworking and to travel.
He was born on January 21, 1938 in Princeton, IN. to Pat & Nancy (Lamkins)
Woods, both deceased. He is also preceded in death by 4 brothers, Charlie, Ray,
Herman and Shelby Woods.
Alva is survived by his wife, Beverly (Allen) Woods of Princeton; son &
daughter-in-law, Alvin and Kaaren Woods of Harker Heights, TX; granddaughter, Candice Cole of Georgetown, TX; and a sister, Mary Pugh of Princeton.
There will be no services. Colvin Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
