Lillian B. Read 95 of Tucson, AZ. passed on Sat. Jan.30, 2010, 6:58 am at St. Joseph Hospital.

Was on born January 13, 1915 in Oakland City, IN to Frances E. Wilkins & Haskell Butcher. Lillian was six years old when her mom passed leaving her to live with her Aunt & Uncle. Lillian was preceded in death by her dad & stepfather Eizo Kojima.

Lillian completing Oakland City College became a nurse in Evansville. She worked in a sheet metal factory during WWII. She met Herbert while both worked at Sears. In St. Louis Oct. 28, 1941 they married. They celebrated 51 years when Herbert passed in Clearwater April 1992.

Lillian & Herbert had five children: Alice, Kay, Wesley, Jane & Mary Read. Retiring to Clearwater, FL, in 1968. Lillian was active in the UMW groups (Lydia & Estralita Circle) in Clearwater & Tucson. Enjoyed quilting until she lost her eyesight. Moved to Tucson, AZ in Jan. of 1997 to be near Kay & Mary's family. She's a member of St. Paul’s UMC the past 13 years. She attended Sam’s Strength & Stretch class 3 times a week.

Lillian is survived by her children: Alice & Larry Dailey, of Mapleton, Ill., Kay Read (missing since Feb .2008), Wes & Linda Read of Peoria, Ill. Jane & Doug Roberts of Florence, South Carolina and Mary & John Seagle of Tucson, Arz. Half-brother Unkle Bill Butcher.

Step daughters: Sheila (Robert) Bougher & Connie & Dave Stevenson.

Grandchildren (great grandchildren): Jeni & Todd Moore (Libby & Mallory), Wendi Spaeth (Courtni & Breanna), Sharron & Robert Lovemore (Danielle, Shelby & Liliana), Kristin & Clark Angevine, Joshua & Daniel Seagle, Lesa & Mark Anderson (Lydia, Garren & Anna), Frances & Bill Lynch (Emma, Lillian & Branson), John & Ragen Roberts (Hayden, Hannah ).

Funeral Services will be Friday February 5, 2010 1:00 P.M. at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, IN and burial in Montgomery Cemetery. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon until services on Friday.
