Robert "Kim" Barrett, 53, of Louisville, Ky. formerly of Owensville, passed away Jan. 26, 2010 at Baptist East Hospital in Louisville after a brief illness.
Born April 18,1956, he was the son of Robert William and Zelda Maxine
(Smith) Barrett.
Kim worked for 25 years as a coal miner at
the Wabash Mine in Keensburg, Ill. After retiring from the mine, he started working as
a boilermaker, pipe fitter and traveling. Kim’s favorite past time was fishing
and spending time at Kentucky Lake.
Kim is survived by his wife, Gwen Reynolds
of Louisville, Ky.; son, Andy Barrett (Mandy) of Carmi, Ill.; sister, Anne Zehner
(Ronald) of Owensville; three grandchildren, Cooper, Cannon and Callie of
Carmi, Ill.; two nieces, Amber Zehner
Schmitt (Casey) and Amanda Zehner Dunkel
(Ryan); one great niece, Presley Dunkel; and two
great nephews, Jaxson Dunkel
and Mason Mockobee.
Memorial services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 6, 2010 at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville followed by
visitation until 3 p.m.
