James H. Cox, 83, formerly of Indianapolis, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2010.
Born Sept. 7, 1926 in Princeton, he was the son of Walter G. and Bertha (Hadorn) Cox.
He was a U.S. Navy veteran. He graduated
from Purdue University with a degree in civil engineering. He married Bettye
E. Brines.
He was employed as a civil engineer with the
state of Indiana and city of Indianapolis, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the American
Legion Post 25 and the Elks.
Graveside services will at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Maple Hill Cemetery in Princeton.
Visitation was 2-6 p.m. Sunday at Shirley Brothers Washington Memorial
Chapel.
Survivors include children, Jamie L.
Neumann, Marcia D. Cox, J. Keith Cox; four grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and
wife Bettye E. Brines on Aug. 7, 1998.
