W. Russell Clayton, 84,
passed away on Saturday January 23, 2010 at the Deaconess Gateway Hospital in Newburgh. He was a livestock buyer for Emge
Packing Company for 25 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of the Poseyville Christian Church. He was a Past Master of the Poseyville F&AM #632, where he was a 50 year member. He
was a member of the Scottish Rite, Hadi Shrine and
Gibson County Shrine Clubs, Sword of Bunker Hill, VFW Father Auxilliary, and Cynthiana Eastern Star #445. He also was a
life member of the Mt. Carmel Eagles #3066.
He was born on December 6, 1925 in Shawneetown, Il. to Henry & Hattie
(Baker) Clayton, both deceased. Also preceding him in death was a grandchild; 3
brothers, Millard, Charles and William Clayton; and a sister, Mary Brauser.
Russell is survived by his wife of 43 years, Tillie (McReynolds) Clayton; 2
daughter, Nancy Bulkley of Davenport, Iowa and Connie Trover of Highland, IL; 1 son, Denny Clayton of Louisville, Ky; 3 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; and 2
brothers, Raymond and Lowell Clayton both of Evansville.
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday January 27, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton with the
Rev. Mark Martin officiating. Burial will be at the Columbia "White" Church Cemetery in Princeton, In. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 P.M. on Tuesday at funeral home. There will be a Masonic
Service at 7
PM on Tuesday evening.
