Celia Virginia Bump, 88, of Mt. Carmel, Ill., went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, Jan.
27, 2010 at Oakview Heights Continuous Care and Rehab in Mt. Carmel, surrounded by family.
Born Sept. 6, 1921, she was the daughter of Andrew Jackson and Florence
Bell (Foster) Dossett.
She married Bennie W. Bump on July 10, 1937 in Princeton.
Celia was a member of the Gospel Kingdom Church in Mt. Carmel. She was a homemaker and worked as a secretary for
the family’s business, Bump’s LP Gas from 1961 until she retired in 1978 in Mt. Carmel.
Survivors include her husband of 73 years,
Bennie W. Bump; son, Dale (Rose) Bump of Princeton; four daughters, Darlene
(Tom) Allen of Mt. Carmel, Debbie (Phil) Cross of Mt. Carmel, Dee Dee (Danny) Dillinger of
Allendale, Ill., Darnell (Floyd) Treece of
Fort Branch; 14 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; and three great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents;
two brothers, Paul and Russell Dossett; and two
sisters, LaVada Green and Ruth Prikopa.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30, 2010 at the Gospel Kingdom Church with burial in Bethel Cemetery in Bellmont, Ill.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. Friday at the Gospel Kingdom Church in Mt. Carmel.
