George Benton Wolfe, 65, of Princeton, passed away peacefully Tuesday, Jan. 12, 2010 at home.  He fought a long and courageous battle against Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. 

Born June 8, 1944 in Greeley Colo., he was the son of Hal Martin and Molly (Sitzman) Wolfe.

George served in the U.S. Navy from 1967-69.  After serving in the military, he graduated from the University of Northern Colorado with a bachelor and master’s degree in sociology.  He worked as a journeyman iron worker in Denver, Colo. for many years.  In his latter years, he worked as a silversmith making and selling beautiful Native American jewelry.  George had a special interest in horticulture and gardening was his passion.  George was a kind and gentle spirit and lived a very colorful life.  He will be dearly missed by his many friends and family.

George is survived by wife Deanna Baughn Wolfe of Princeton; son, Daniel Rico (Niki) Wolfe of Greeley, Colo.; stepsons, Kyle Landrum of Princeton, Michael (Shana) Mares of Honolulu, Hawaii; stepdaughter, Shelby Broyles of Victorville, Calif.; sister, Margaret Meurgia of Sunnyvale, Calif.; brother, William (Kathy) Wolfe of Nasa Bay Texas; and three granddaughters.

A memorial service will be at noon Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at Doyle Funeral Home, 520 S. Main St. in Princeton. A Native American memorial service will be sponsored by John Martinez of Eaton, Colo. in Early June of 2010.
