Catherine "Katie" May Gillin, 82, passed away Monday Jan. 18, 2010 at home.

Born March 29, 1927 in Sullivan County, she was the daughter of Thomas McCombs and Laura (Gorby) McCombs.

She worked for many years at Sackrider Accounting.

Survivors include her husband Buck Gillin; son, Ronny (Diana) Gillin of Terre Haute; three daughters,Elizabeth “Libby” (Steve) Kerr of Prairie Creek, Deborah Maynard of Hymera, Martha Allen of Owensville; sister, Patsy Eldridge of Terre Haute; 17 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; six great great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Bob “Butch” Gillin; daughter, Carolyn Solonka; and three brothers, Thomas, Jim and Bill McCombs.

Funeral services are at 2 p.m. Wednesday at DeBaun Springhill Chapel, 85 E. Springhill Dr., Terre Haute with Pastor Rick Swan officiating. Burial will be in New Harmony Cemetery.

Visitation is 4-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
