Steven Pete Cardinal, of Union, Pike County, Indiana, passed away on Thursday January 14, 2010 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville, Indiana. He was 64 years old.
Steve was born Feb 5 to John J. and Olive K. (
Harvey) Cardinal in Union and lived his whole life there. Steve served in the Air Force of the United States from 1967 to 1973, including a tour in Vietnam. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Staff Sergeant.


While in the Air Force, Steve received technical training in CAD/CAM systems, which he used to obtain a job a Potter & Brumfield in
Princeton, Indiana. He worked at Potter & Brumfield until the plant was sold to Siemens and continued working for Siemens until he retired in 1997.


Steve participated in many clubs and activities. He was a member of the Columbia Lodge #450, a member (N9UO) of the Pike County Amateur Radio Club, Inc. and was a member of the Patriot Riders motorcycle club, and a proud Vietnam Veteran participating in "Rolling Thunder" Memorial Day rides to the "Wall" in Washington, D.C.

Steve is survived by his brother, James Cardinal of Bowie, MD; niece, Theresa Cardinal Brown, of the U.S. Embassy in Ottawa, Canada; nephew, J. Scott Cardinal of Albany, NY; 1 great niece and 1 great nephew; and several cousins.

A Memorial Service will be held by VFW Post #1147 and the Columbia Lodge # 450 on
Friday January 22, 2010 at 7:00 P.M. at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, In. Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M. until service time on Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Union Community Cemetery on Saturday for family.
