Arthur J. “Art” Schultheis, 87 passed away Tuesday, Dec. 8, 2009 at his home.

Born Aug. 3, 1922 in Haubstadt, he was the son of Joseph and Mary (Czech) Schultheis Market.

He resided his lifetime in Haubstadt and retired from Whirlpool Corp. He was a life member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, honorary life member of K of C Council 2215 where he was a Past Grand Knight.  He enjoyed bike riding, gardening, playing Clabber and bartending at the K of C hall.

Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Hazel (Kruse) Schultheis;  two daughters, Mary (Bill) Thompson of Princeton, Jean (Steve) Weber of Phoenix, Ariz.; three sons,  Joe and Ritchie Schultheis of Livingston, Tenn., Mark (Cheryl) Schultheis of Evansville; six grandchildren, Laura (River) Luecke, B.J. Thompson, Brian Schultheis, Greg Schultheis, Tannon (Patricia) Weber, Logan Weber;  two step-sisters, Alvina Meyer of Fort Wayne, Mildred Petitjean of Evansville; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Henry Schultheis; half brother, Frank Market; four sisters, Sister Latitia Schultheis, O.S.B., Sister Miriam Schultheis, O.S.B., Louise Applegarth and Ann Reising.

 A Mass of Christian burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Father Tony Ernst as the celebrant.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery. 

Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. Thursday at Wade Funeral Home, 119 S. Vine St., Haubstadt, with a K of C memorial service and Rosary at 7 p.m.  Friends may also call from 10 a.m. until Mass time Friday at the church.
