Steve Abney, 62, of Fort Branch, passed away Thursday, Nov.11, 2009 at the River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.

Born June 13, 1947, in Clark County, Ky. he was the son of Clayton and Ethel (Walters) Abney.

He worked as a truck driver. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War

Survivors include a son, Steven Abney Jr. of Metropolis, Ill., brother, Larry Abney, of Greenwood; sister, Delores Tapp of Winchester, Ky.; former wife and friend, Patricia Lynch of Fort Branch.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch. Burial will be in Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch. Military rites will be conducted by VFW Post 2714 and American Legion Post 194.

Visitation will be at 9 a.m. Wednesday until the service hour at the funeral home.
