Gloria Bess (Yeast) Strawn, 80, passed away Monday, Oct. 26, 2009 at Deaconess Hospital in Evansville.

Born Oct. 14, 1929, she was the daughter of James and Adah (Ashby) Yeast.

Gloria was a homemaker and worked for the U.S. Postal Service. She was a member of the Blythe Chapel Untied Methodist Church and the American Legion Auxiliary. She lived most of her life in Fort Branch

Survivors include a son, Jim "Rooster" Geary; daughter, Darla (Tim Offerman) Barrett; two grandsons, Chris Barrett and Cody Geary; one great-granddaughter, Emma Barrett; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded by her parents; husband, Charles Strawn in 1994; grandson, Jason Geary in 1995; sisters, Geraldine "Jerry" Bell, Martha Bell Conner, Mildred Yeast; and brother, Albia Yeast.

Funeral services will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009 at the Blythe Chapel United Methodist Church. Burial will be in the Walnut Hill Cemetery in Fort Branch.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Wednesday at Holders Funeral Home in Owensville and from 9:30 a.m. until services time at the church on Thursday.
