OAKLAND CITY - Dorothy Irene Tooley, 78, of Oakland City, passed away Monday, Oct. 12, 2009 at her son's home in Winslow.

Born Nov. 5, 1930 in Pike County, she was the daughter of Otis and Ada (Robling) Brown

She was a graduate of Winslow High School in 1949, bus driver for Headstart for many years.She was past member of Oakland City American Legion Auxiliary and Women of Eagles in Winslow.

Survivors include family members, Jessie Bise of Evansville, Elizabeth Ward and Brian Tooley of Jasper, Otis Tooley of Oakland City, Benny Tooley of Otwell, Billy Tooley of Winslow; sisters, Juanita Cooper of Tell City, Maxine Geene of California, Joan Sharp of Winslow, Alice Fowler of Petersburg, Wanda Williams of Oakland City, Nina Vaughn of Warrenburg, Ill.; 23 grandchildren; (17 great-grandchildren; and one great great- grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Redmond; daughter, Mary Truelove; brothers, Everett Brown, Paul Brown; and sister, Shirley Nelson.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct. 16, 2009 at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Pat McCandless officiating. Burial will be in Augusta Cemetery in Augusta.

Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Thursday and from 8 a.m. until the service hour on Friday at the chapel.
