PRINCETON - Joyce Steadman, 80, of Princeton, passed away Thursday Oct. 8, 2009 at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove (Indianapolis).

Born July 20, 1929 in Columbus, NC, she was the daughter of Buford and Emerline (Dover) Sitton.

On July 1, 1949, she was married to Troy Steadman in Chesnee, S.C.

Survivors include two sons, William Troy Jr. (Yvonna) Steadman of Colorado Springs, Colo., Michael Scott Steadman of Indianapolis; four grandchildren, Jennifer Lynne Ferguson, Alicia Diane (Wesley) Stinchcomb, Brady Troy Steadman; Brittney Kaye Steadman; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 56 years, William Troy Steadman; brother, John Sitton; and sister, Betty Henderson.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday Oct. 12, 2009 at Doyle Funeral Home, 520 S. Main St. in Princeton with the Rev. Rick Lance officiating.

A private graveside service will take place at a later date.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. Monday October 12, 2009 until the 3 p.m. service hour at Doyle Funeral Home.

Burial will take place next to her husband in Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton.
