OAKLAND CITY
- Marie E. Richardson, 93, passed away Monday
Oct. 12, 2009 at St. Mary's Medical
Center in Evansville.
She was born April 4, 1916
in Pike County
to Samuel A. and Nancy M. (Simpson) Bottom.
She lived in the Oakland City
area her entire life. She formerly operated Cottage Grocery and Richardson
Lumber Co. and Real Estate, all in Oakland
City. She was a member of the First
General Baptist Church
in Oakland City
and a 50-year plus member of the Oakland City Order of Eastern Star, now
affiliated with Golden Fleece Chapter 176 Order of Eastern Star in Princeton
and the Isis Temple Daughters of the Nile in Evansville.
Marie is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and John D. Albers
of Evansville; one granddaughter, Ann Richardson Albers of Hendersonville,
Tenn.; special nieces and nephews, Brett Bell, Larry Bottom, Les Bryan,
Charlotte Frederick, Paul Gene Curry, Lucille Corn, Gary Steele, Paula Steele,
Susan Bottom, Martha Harper, Jay Dee Oliver; as well as numerous other nieces,
nephews and great nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 69 years, Glenn
Walter Richardson in 2006; a son, Gary Don Richardson; and siblings, Bethel
Curry, Woodrow Bottom, Doris Steele, William Henry Bottom, Barbara Bell and Marshall
Bottom.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m.
Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 at
Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City.
Burial will be at Montgomery Cemetery
in Oakland City.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m.
Friday at Corn-Colvin Funeral Home, with an Order of Eastern Star memorial
service at 7 p.m. Friday.
