POSEYVILLE - Mary A. Nix, 101, of Poseyville, passed away Saturday, Oct. 17, 2009 in Princeton.

Born Dec. 14, 1907 in Mt. Vernon, Ind., she was the daughter of George E. and Frances (Mueller) Fischer.

She was a member of: St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Poseyville, Goldladies and the St. Francis Quilting Club.

Survivors include four daughters, Mary Catherine Garrison and her husband Thomas of Brownsburg, Ann Powers and her husband Carroll of Indianapolis, Theresa Allen and her husband Gene of Princeton, Margaret Herrel of Jasper; son, Carl A. "Sonny" Nix and his wife Mary Rita of Poseyville; a sister, Rosemary Rowe of Mt. Vernon; a sister-in-law, Elnora Fischer of Mt. Vernon; 17 grandchildren; one step-grandchild; 36 great- grandchildren; eight step- grandchildren; six great great- grandchildren; three step great great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; six brothers; two sisters; one grandchild; and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 10 a.m., Wednesday, Oct. 21, 2009 at St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church in Poseyville, with Father Ed Schnur and Father Ron Zgunda officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery in Poseyville.

Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2009 at Werry Funeral Home, Poseyville Chapel. There will be a Rosary service at 3 p.m., Tuesday at the funeral home.
