CARL "VERNON"
WITT age 80 passed away Sunday Sept.
13, 2009 at the Waters of Princeton. He was born Oct. 26, 1928 in Putnam
County, IN. to Arthur and Daisy
(Scott) Witt. He had retired after being longtime owner operator of the
Gibson County Feed and Seed. He had lived in Princeton since 1958 moving here
from Albion IN, moving there from Putnam County
Vernon was a 56 year member of the Masonic Lodge most recently member of
Prince Lodge #231. He was also a member of the Scottish Rite and the Hadi Shrine. He served on the Board of Trustees of the Columbia
"White" Church Cemetery.
He had served as Gibson County Fair Board President and had served on the
North Gibson Interim School Board when the schools were consolidated.
Vernon is survived by his wife of 57 years, Delores, two sons and
daughters-in-law; Alann and Brenda Witt, Princeton
and Garry and Denise Witt, Catlett, VA, daughter and son-in-law; Terri and
Charlie Woodruff, Princeton, seven grandchildren; Tiffany Payne, Andrea Dyehouse, Randall Woodruff, Garrett, Gavin, Issac and Nathanael Witt, three
great-grandchildren; Caleb and Chase Dyehouse and
Jacob Payne, five sisters, Jean DeTrude, Carmel,
IN, Shirley Warner, Muncie, IN, Margaret Calhan, New Ross, IN, Judy Davidson
and Betty Cloncs, Crawfordsville, IN.
His parents, three sisters and three brothers preceded him in death.
Family graveside services will be held, followed by burial in the Columbia
"White" Church Cemetery.
There will be no visitation Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton
is in charge of the arrangements.
