OAKLAND CITY, Ind.Cdv Fern Williams, 89, of Oakland City, entered rest on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 6:20 p.m. at St. Mary's Medical Center in Evansville.

She was born on April 4, 1920, in Glezen. Ind., to Clarence and Ethel (McGillem) Wilhite.

She was preceded in death by husbands, Arthur "Red" Drew, in 1976 and Ellsworth Williams in 1984 and daughters, Patricia Drew and Uleda Erwin, grandson, Ritchie McDowell, sister, Ruth Houchins and brother, Paul Wilhite.

She worked throughout her lifetime as waitress and cook at Powers Café, Tastee Freeze and Pipers Pizza House in Oakland City and was member of Glezen General Baptist Church.

Surviving family members are a daughter, Anita Corn and companion, Larry Gourley of Oakland City; stepchildren, Allen Williams and Laveda (Marion) Battles of Vincennes; grandchildren, Billie (James) Johnson, Carmen Church, Kelly Hopkins, Scott (Candy) Corn, Brady (Jeri) Corn, Tisha Erwin; great-grandchildren, Brandy McDowell, Haley Church, Bailey Corn, Sydney Corn and Kiefer Erwin; and great-great-grandchild, Allysa Mann.

Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009, at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, with burial in Walnut Hills Cemetery in Petersburg, Ind., Rev. Jack Hamm will be officiating.

Visitation is 4 to 8 p.m. today and from 8 a.m. to services Wednesday at the chapel.
