Ernie M. Snyder, 71, of Fort
Branch, IN. passed away on Thursday, Sept. 17th, 2009 at his residence after
a year long battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on Oct. 3rd, 1937, in Edwardsport, IN. to the late Albert and Retha (Hilton) Snyder. Ernie served in the Marine Corp.
during the Korean War and the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He was a
member of the Fort Branch VFW Post 2714 and worked as a truck driver. He is
survived by his wife Antosie B. (Wysockie) Snyder, 3 daughters Linda Russel
of El Paso, TX.; Valerie Pugh of El Paso, TX., and Sharon Rhoades of Albertsville, Ala.; 2 sisters, Loretta Campbell of
Mooresville, IN., and Molly Miner Buckskin, IN.; 1 brother Harold Snyder of
Cloverdale, IN.. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren. Services for Ernie
will be on Thursday, Sept. 24th,
2009 at the Stodghill Funeral Home
located on Hwy. 168 West in Fort Branch,
IN. Pastor Paul J. Dehart will officiate; burial will be in Walnut
Hill Cemetery
in Fort Branch.
Visitation will be from 4:00 P.M.
until 9:00 P.M. at the funeral home
on Wednesday, Sept. 23rd, 2009.
The VFW Post 2714 and American Legion Post 194 will conduct military services
at the graveside on Thursday.
