YANKEETOWN
— John E. Kell, 86, of Yankeetown, passed away Monday
Sept. 7, 2009 at Bakers Rest Haven in Boonville.
Born March 12, 1923 in Pike County, he was the son of Raymond and Esther (Houchins)
Kell.
He was a graduate Oakland City College (University) and was a minister in the local area more than
40 years.
Survivors include children, Janice Martin of Brownsburg,
Martha Carpenter of Richland, Mike Kell of Newport Richey, Fla.;
brothers, Fred (Ruth) Kell, Louis Kell,
Sam (Donna) Kell of Oakland City; sisters, Amy Tschappler of Phoenix, Ariz., Aline (Miguel) Taitana of San Antonio, Texas Lena (Glen)
Boswell of Harrison, Ark.; eight grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren: seven
step great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his
parents; wife, Reva Kell; brothers, Jim, Raymond Lee, Edwin Kell; and sister,
Dora Anthony.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City with the Rev. Ron Carpenter will officiating.
Burial will be in Montgomery Cemetery both in Oakland City.
Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m.Thursday
and from 8 a.m. until the service hour on Friday at the Chapel.
