Emma Jean Walls, age 74, passed away Tuesday, June 9, 2009, at her home in Evansville. She was born in Gibson County on May 20, 1935, to Lincoln and Edna (Coomer) Wagner. She was a homemaker, who loved to read even after she went blind she always enjoyed the books on tape.

Emma is survived by her husband, Claude Walls, Evansville; her five children Debra (Chris) Banfield, Greenwood, Ind., Darlene (Bob) Welch, West Des Moines, Iowa, Sue Ellen Wancowicz, Baltimore, Md., David (Misty) Walls, Newburgh, Ind., Donald (Anita) Walls, West Des Moines, Iowa; nine grandchildren, Melissa Skirvin, Kendra Dunkerson, Andy and Sarah Eberle, Jacob Welch, Jimmy Wancowicz, Rob, Nicholas and Kevin Walls; 14 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild; seven brothers and sisters, Richard (Wanda) Wagner, Fort Branch, Diana Roth, Toledo, Ill., Marcella Buck, Buckskin, Linus (Linda) Wagner, Atalissa, Iowa, Marilyn (Bill) Mills, Evansville, Gayle (Donald) Rostron, and Jerry (Shirley) Wagner, Princeton; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, Joyce Hunt, Jeanette Skelton and Barbara Wilson, two brothers, Paul and Dennis Wagner, and a great-granddaughter, Paige Booker.

Funeral Services will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, June 13, 2009, at the Colvin Funeral Home in Princeton, with the Rev. John Heuman officiating, burial will follow in the Providence Cemetery in rural Francisco. Visitation will be from 4 until 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
