OAKLAND CITY, Ind.
— Gene Holderbaugh, 87, of Oakland City, Ind.,
entered rest at 4:10 a.m. Friday, July 3, 2009, at Deaconess
Gateway Hospital
in Newburgh, Ind.
Gene was born on October 21, 1921,
Pike County, Ind.,
to Evert and Esta (Ford) Hunt.
She was preceded in death by parents; son, Jed on May 3, 1955; husband, Cleon Holderbaugh on July 28, 1993; and brother, Capt.
William "Bill" Hunt.
She was a member of Good Shepherd
United Methodist
Church. She worked at Gibson County
Bank, First Bank in Oakland City, Ind.,
and also bookkeeper at Oakland City
College from 1961-64 and later
became college bookstore manager until 1992.
Surviving family members are daughter, LuAnn (Alva) Buck of Ft. Branch,
Ind.; son, Mark C. (Cheryl) Holderbaugh of Mahomet, Ill.; grandchildren, Jenny
(Ross) Emery, Bill (Crystal) Buck, Jacob C., Jessica and Jana Holderbaugh;
great-grandchildren, Lucas, Nathan Emery, Dylan, Ayden Buck; and a sister,
Yvonne Lingo of Ormond Beach, Fla.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, July 7, 2009, at
Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel with burial in Montgomery
Cemetery. Dr. Douglas Low will
officiate. Visitation will be from 4
to 8 p.m. Monday and from 8 a.m. until services on Tuesday.
