OAKLAND CITY, Ind.
— Robert K."Bob" Deputy, 69, of Oakland
City, entered rest on Sunday, June 21, 2009, at 5:30 p.m. at his home.
He was born on August 17, 1939,
in Gibson County
to Paul and Wilma (Case) Deputy. He had worked in the coal mine industry, owned
and operated Deputy Excavation for several years and worked from the Local
Operators Hall. He graduated from Oakland
City High School
in 1957. He was a former member of Oakland City Lions Club and member of the
Indiana Beekeepers Association. He was a 50-year member of the International
Union of Operating Engineers and a member of Operating Hall Local 181.
Surviving is wife of 50 years, the former Betty (Creekmur)
Deputy; son, Jon (Lisa) Deputy of Poseyville, Ind.;
daughters, Susan (Danny) Adler of Evansville and Carol (Ron) Preston of
Greenville, North Carolina; grandchildren, Dustin and Kelsey Deputy, Makenzie and Alek Adler and
Andrew and Shea Preston; sisters, Mary Cromer of
Mackey, Ind., and Janice Chandler of Petersburg, Ind.; and brother, Harold
Deputy of Oakland City.
Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2009, at
Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel, with burial in Forsythe
Cemetery. Dr. Jim Pratt will
officiate. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m.
today and 9 a.m. to services Thursday.
