HAUBSTADT, Ind. — Helen L. Wilhite, 91, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2009, at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton.

She was born in Haubstadt on September 8, 1917, to the late Anthony and Carrie (Kiefer) Kiesel and resided there her entire lifetime.

Helen was a seamstress and a homemaker.

She was a lifetime member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church; also a member of St. Bernadette Auxiliary #280 and a charter member of American Legion Auxiliary Post #194.

Helen enjoyed sewing, camping, traveling and spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse in 2005; one sister, Catherine Memmer; two brothers, John and Wilfred Kiesel, and one grandson, Darell Dewig.

Helen is survived by one daughter, Janet (Tom) Dewig of Haubstadt; two sons, Charlie (Sandy) Wilhite of Haubstadt and Gerald (Laurie) Wilhite of Santa Claus, Ind.; eight grandchildren; John and Brett Wilhite, Joella Hipp, Dean Dewig and Darla Kiesel, Samuel, Jackson and Emma Wilhite; and nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Rosalind Sensmeier of Haubstadt; and nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial will be 10 a.m. Monday at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church with Frs. Tony Ernst, John Sasse, Gary Kaiser and Lowell Will concelebrating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

Friends may call from 3 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Wade Funeral Home, 119 S. Vine St., Haubstadt with a Rosary service at 7 p.m. Friends may also call Monday from 9 a.m. until Mass time at the church.
