Common Directions:

Cemetery is located at the top of the hill on the west side of the south end of Main Street (unpaved gravel street begins at the southwest corner of the United Methodist Chruch parking lot.)  A low bank must be climbed to reach the level of the cemetery.

"Sergeant, Company "B", 42nd. Indiana Infantry."  Enlisted as Sergeant 30 Oct 1861, Spencer County, Indiana.  Pension records show:  "Widow: Marla J. McGuire and son Albert E Tremper."  They are in the Albert Phillips household in the 1870 census of White River Twp.  She is 26 and Albert is 1.

Some of the above records from The Princeton Democrat   Saturday, January 12, 1889, most others per transcribed records from Mark Ellis, 28 Dec 1999, with a few changes to some calculated birth dates.  NOTE:  "Headstone not found" means I could not locate it or it might be one of the "unknowns."

  On 17 Aug 2009 it appeared that a large amount of brush and small trees have recently been cleared.  The cemetery is in very poor condition with ground cover and many broken and unreadable stones.
