"Inscriptions and Notes" compiled from several sources, including old transcription credited to Anna Hudelson in the last 1950s or early 1960s..  This is an active cemetery. "One of the lost landmarks in Gibson County was the Shiloh United Methodist Church. The church was located 4 miles east of Hazleton on State Road 56. The church was organized in the year 1815 and it is thought Rev. John Scripps was the first minister. The first two buildings were constructed from logs and had dirt floors, sleepers for seats, and a fireplace in one end for heat. In 1893 a frame structure was erected. Two and one-half acres of land had been purchased from Charles and Lucinda Ford by the trustees Eli Warren, Joseph Phillips, Augustus Degenhart and Charles L. Ford. This was to be a place of worship and a cemetery forever. The cost of the land was $100. Through the years the building had been remodeled and renovated to keep modernized and keep pace with the progress of time. The conference thought it best to close the church June 13, 1971 due to a shortage of Methodist ministers and a lack of young people in the community. The Shiloh Cemetery Association purchased the building and in September 1974 all the furnishings of the church were sold at public auction. In November 1975 the building sold at public auction and had to be removed or razed by Memorial Day. At the time of the closing there were 48 members who attended regularly. The minister was Jack Fehrman and the trustees were Brett Whiting, Ernest Wolfe, John Steelman, Allan Sanders, John Robb, George Ford and Gordon Elliott. Many of the members transferred to Mount Olive United Methodist Church."
