the 2nd & buried with the honors of war 4th july 1849.Aged 90 year's"
Note: Inscription on "newer" stone: "Buried 4 Jul 1843; Served in the Revolutionary War 5 yrs 10 mos.; Monument dedicated July 4, 1926 by Patriotic organizations of Gibson County."

Indiana. Son of Elisha B & Mary E (CHAMBERLAIN) WITHERALL. | The following inforamtion was supplied by his great-granddaughter Brenda Craig, 5 Feb 2010. "Morris Edwin Witherall is what is on his death certificate. Although older relatives said his first name was Maurice and they called him Ed. He married Emeline Lane 20th of Aug 1887 Pike County, Indiana. On the marriage license his name is Edwin Witherell. They had nine children around gibson and pike county, Indiana.He was born 24th Sept 1850 in West Cornwall, Connecticut. He died 18th Mar 1919. at the county infirmary Gibson County, Indiana, and is buried behind the poor farm, but does not have a head stone. They lived in Patoka, Indiana." |
