Phyllis A. Baumgart, 76, of Haubstadt, IN, passed away on January 2, 2020 at Deaconess Midtown Hospital in Evansville, IN. She was born to the late John and Lola (Wernke) Klueg on April 7, 1943 in Hornville, IN.
She was a member of Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. She was also a member of the National Barrel Horse Association Indiana 05. She was a factory worker for Moll Tool and retired from PPG in Evansville. Phyllis enjoyed several hobbies including several bowling leagues, going out with her Armstrong Grade School girls, traveling, hunting, fishing, playing games, and most of all spending time with her family.
She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 39 years, Charles Baumgart, in 2001; daughter, Barbara Baumgart; grandchild, Kloe Baumgart-Crook; brothers, Joseph and John Klueg; and sister, Marilyn Klueg.
Phyllis is survived by her children, Shirley (Rob) Halbig of Haubstadt, IN, Cathy (Wayne) Halbig of Princeton, IN, Rohn Baumgart of Fort Branch, IN, and Michael (Eleanor) Baumgart of Haubstadt, IN; grandchildren, Lee (Kaitlyn) Halbig, Ryan Halbig, Joshua (Kaylin) Halbig, Andrew (Robin) Halbig, Johnathon (Whitney) Halbig, Kristina Baumgart, Amber Baumgart, Hanna Baumgart, Brandon (China Phelps) Baumgart, Grace Camp, Richard Camp, and Angel Camp; 14 great grandchildren with 1 on the way; sister Norma Jean Elpers of Cynthiana, IN; and service dog and companion, Bruno.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 7, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Haubstadt, IN with Father Christopher Droste as the celebrant. Visitation will be on Monday, January 6, 2020 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Stodghill Funeral Home in Fort Branch and again on Tuesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church. Burial will be in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery following mass.
