Samuel Lane (1769-1845) and Lucretia Sippy Lane (17691857)

Samuel Lane is one of only two Revolutionary War veterans buried in Fulton County. He was born in 1769 in Beaver County, Pennsylvania and came to Akron, Indiana in 1842 with the first wave of settlers. He is listed as a shoemaker in Barnhart's History of Fulton County (p. 138).

Lucretia Johnson Sippy Lane was married to the Frenchman Joseph Tremaeu Sippy, but he died in 1819. She would marry Samuel Lane in 1832 and they were among the first pioneers to settle the Akron area. They are both buried in Akron Citizen's Cemetery in Akron.
