Peter (1821-1904) & Leah Apt (1825-1901)

Peter Apt's father, Henry (1780-1857), migrated from Basil, Switzerland in 1805 aboard the ship Liberty, arriving in Philadelphia and settling in Ohio. Peter married Leah Houser in 1843 in Ohio, and they didn't move to Kewanna, Indiana until 1864. They lived on 17 South just right at the edge of town. Leah was reported to be a healer, using bible verses as she prayed over burns. Both are buried at Kewanna Citizens IOOF. They had 8 children:

Henry (1847-1926) m. Linnie Thomas
Frances M. "Frank" (1850-1899) m. Hester
Mary J. (1853–1936) m. John C. Phillips
Rachael A. (1855-1945) m. Lewis C. Mills
Sarah L. (1857-1933) m. George Calvin
Charles T. (1861-1920) died in Oakland County, Michigan

Adelaide (unknown - possibly died an infant)
