From Tim Mattingly: "My father and I personally walked this entire cemetery and recorded all the markers. With the cemetery being so old, a lot of the stones were unreadable, broken off or completely missing. James Chance, #9 on the plot plan, is my GGGG grandfather. I would like to thank Gloria Brashear for all the help she gave me. The same James Chance is her GGG grandfather." Stones discovered on a subsequent visit in Apr of 1988 (Plot plan A thru I); some had been cleaned and were newly readable. The ones marked "?" were still unreadable. |
