Mrs. Laura Ellen Wycoff, age 72, who had been residing at the home of a niece Mrs. Barbara Draper in Covington, for the past six months, died at 5:45 a.m. Monday, March 1, in Lakeview Hospital in Danville, Ill., where she had been a patient for one week. Mrs. Wycoff was born Aug. 18, 1892 in Fairmount, Ill., the daughter of George G. and Laura B. Trisler Mitchell. She was married twice, first to Amos Deevers and then to Oscar T. Wycoff on Dec. 16, 1940. She attended school in Fairmount and was a resident of that area most of her life. She had resided in Monmouth, Ill., for two years prior to coming to Covington to make her home with her niece. Surviving, in addition to the niece, are: two brothers, Gus Mitchell of Danville, Ill., and Harlan Mitchell of Fairmount; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Ann Brockenschick of Baton Rouge, La., and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by three sisters and two brothers. Funeral services were held at 2 o’clock Wednesday afternoon, March 3, at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Allen Lehmann, pastor of the Bethel Full Gospel Church, officiated and burial was in Greenview Cemetery in Fairmount. – jlr
